Update Controller
Update Controller Software using the Internet
[This feature is deactivated in the standard software version.]
If the BMT Controller is connected to a network with access to the internet. It is possible to update the controller software with the newest version downloaded from the internet just by clicking the button:
After updating the controller, the device will reboot. Please save all data before this action.
The current software version is displayed in the txt field.
Update Controller Software using USB-Stick
If the software update is downloaded manually, it is possible to update the BMT Controller using the update on an USB-Stick. This can be done while the Controller is running or also before the boot process. This process may take up to a minute and will reboot the controller.
Network Program Contoller
[from GUI and Firmware-Versions 0.24]
This control allows to start a program from an USB-Stick remotely for the BMT controller.
Start a program: The program file name needs to be entered (*.bmt name). The program starts immediately if the filename is found on the USB-Stick connected and if it fits the BMT controller type.
Stop a program: If a program is running, it will be stopped at the BMT controller. A specific name is not needed.
Controller User Interface (GUI)
It is possible to control the BMT Controller directly at the device using a monitor at the HDMI interface and a keyboard + mouse at the USB interface. Additionally, it is also possible to connect a touch screen.
To change the GUI-Settings, activate the “Change GUI” selection field.
No GUI | The BMT Controller will be started without any GUI. This may be interesting to speed up the boot process and to save CPU resources. |
Standard | The BMT Controller will be started with standard GUI. |
Touch | The BMT Controller will be started with the GUI optimization for touch screens. |
General Settings
The general settings allows to change geenral device settings and show its common information.
Controller Name | The name of the controller shown in the controller list view. The default name is the MAC-Address. |
Multicast-IP | The multicast IP of the controller for the automatic registration. |
UPD-Port | The UPD port of the controller for the automatic registration. |
IP-Address | The IP-Address of the controller in the network. |
TCP-Port | The TCP port for the communication of the controller with the PC. |
Controller Type | The type of the controller

Save & Restart | After changing any settings, these changes need to be saved and the controller will be restarted using this button. |
Network Connection Settings
It is possible to configure the LAN and W-LAN settings of the controller. This allow to connect to a W-LAN access point and to change between DHCP and fixed IP address settings of LAN and W-LAN network interface. To start the configuration the check box “Change LAN & WLAN” needs to be activated.

Static IP address LAN | To be able to set a fixed IP address the usage of DHCP needs to be deactivated by deselecting the “Use LAN DHCP” selection.

Caution: Wrong settings will cause a malfunction in registering the controller to the Client Software. Please see the chapter Troubleshooting if the connection to the BMT controller is not possible anymore after setting the fixed IP details. |

Connect to W-LAN | |

WLAN SSID | Entering the name of the W-LAN network (SSID).

WLAN password | Entering the password of the W-LAN network.

Save & Restart: Every change needs to be saved using this button. The BMT Controller will be rebooted after saving.
It is also possible to see the IP connection details of the BMT controller using a monitor connected to the BMT controller HDMI output.
The IP-Address is shown in the footer of the Software at the controller:
Shutdown & Restart
Shutdown | It is recommended to shut down the BMT controller before powering off.
Power off the controller without shutdown may damage the operation system. |
Restart | Using this button will reboot the controller. |
